Design of Experiments (DOE) is a methodology that can be effective for general problem-solving, as well as for improving or optimizing product design and manufacturing processes. Specific applications of DOE include identifying proper design dimensions and tolerances, achieving robust designs, generating predictive math models that describe physical system behavior, and determining ideal manufacturing settings. This course utilizes hands-on activities to help you learn the criteria for running a DOE, the requirements and pre-work necessary prior to DOE execution, and how to select the appropriate designed experiment type to run.

This course provides both a functional understanding of the principles involved in conducting a Design for Manufacture/Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) study and the process for implementing a DFM/DFA culture into the organization. DFM/DFA principles can apply to both manual and automated processes resulting in significant cost savings through not only simpler designs with fewer components but also analyses workstation setup and workflow, part orientations during build, and design considerations such as component placement, tolerancing and servicing considerations.

This full-day course is designed to equip engineering professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to combine the strengths of Design Engineering and Systems Engineering into Systems Design Engineering (SDE) principles. These principles will improve engineering efficiency and practically design more sustainable system-level products, all while strategically aligning with digital transformation objectives.

This courser will introduce the latest version (2019) of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Handbook with a focus on DFMEA and PFMEA building. Each column of the FMEA document will also be explained in detail with FMEA examples. The course also includes an introduction to the logic for identifying technical risks and thinking tools for risk mitigation. In addition, various methods to identify the failure chain will be elaborated on, especially the changes in the severity, incidence and detection degree of risks and the application of AP priority.
