Topics: Accident Reconstruction
This course introduces basic tire mechanics, including tire construction components based on application type, required sidewall stamping in accordance with DoT/ECE regulations, tread patterns, regulatory and research testing on quality, tire inspections and basic tire failure identification. The course will provide you with information that you can use immediately on-the-job and apply to your own vehicle. This course is practical in nature and supplemented with samples and hands-on activities. It also provides a detailed description of tire marks and its characteristics in order to investigate accident reconstruction, tire failure modes, their potential causes, identification, and the sometimes-subtle nuances that go along with the determination of tire failure. In addition, proper inspection techniques of tires will be discussed, and samples will be available to reinforce the concepts learned.
By completing this course, you will be able to:
This course is extremely helpful for accident reconstructionists, law enforcement personnel, and those with a thirst for knowledge on tires. The materials are basic in nature and not intended for individuals with substantial tire knowledge and is not intended to teach tire design. This course provides a basic understanding for tire sales representatives, tire technicians, tire customer claim service representatives, tire production managers, and tire application technicians who should be able to choose the right tire construction and pattern for the right application and critical quality parameters.
You must complete all course contact hours and successfully pass the learning assessment to obtain CEUs.
Zoran Markovic
Zoran Markovic specializes in tire design, processing, and forensic analysis. He has worked as a tire customer claim investigator analyst, reviewing failed tires in order to provide and identify the root cause of failure and able to describe the differences between process, application and design failure contributing factors. Zoran has conducted seminars to Marketing/Sales/Field Engineers on tire applications and construction criteria and common abnormalities. As Director of Testing, he developed indoor and outdoor purpose tire testing prior to production launches and troubleshooting of potential production failures. He has designed new products in compliance with DOT or ECE requirements.
Zoran is experienced in the tire production process, with the ability to trouble shoot, create or modify process specifications. He has educated tire design engineers on mathematical tire modeling approach and its tire performance benefits.
He has served as Chief Engineer Designing tires specifying appropriate components in order to satisfy tire main applications that are critical to quality parameters (CTQ) and in compliance with regulatory DOT/ECE requirements
Zoran has multiple advanced degrees:
