Internal audits are a requirement of the AS9100, AS 13100 and RM 13005 and are intended to verify the compliance and effectiveness of an organization's quality management system.

The methods and techniques for performing internal audits have significantly changed in the aviation, space and defense industries, and internal auditors must be knowledgeable of these requirements and the expectations as identified in the standard.

This three-day internal auditor training program is designed to provide potential and existing internal auditors with the knowledge necessary to understand and effectively conduct a successfully audit of an organization against various requirements in Aviation, Space and Defense sector.

Participants will participate in various exercises, case studies and practical audit activities that will demonstrate the required knowledge and skill to be competent as an internal auditor. An exam is provided to further demonstrate this knowledge.

In addition to ISO 19011, AS9100, and AS13100. the various supporting Reference Manuals (e.g., RM 13004, 13005, 13006, etc.) that contribute to the Advance Product Quality Planning process will be reviewed.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for quality professionals in the aviation, space and defense industries who are conducting Internal and Supplier Audits.

Prerequisites

Prior knowledge and experience is not required, however an understanding of the AS9100 Quality Management System Standard and internal auditing concepts would be beneficial.

You must complete all course contact hours and successfully pass the learning assessment to obtain CEUs.

Paul Kunder

Paul Mr. Kunder is the President of Amera-Veritas, Inc., a provider of quality, safety, and risk management services. Mr. Kunder is a lead instructor for the Aerospace Auditor Transition Training and is currently an International/Americas Quality Group and RABQSA AS9100 Aerospace Auditor and Quality System Lead Auditor. He is active in standards development as a voting member of the US Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO Technical Committee 176 which is responsible for development of the ISO 9001 Standard. He serves as the Vice Chair of the National ANSI/ASQ Z1A Committee on Auditing (ISO 19011) and on the US TAG Interpretations Committee. He has performed more than five hundred audits and has assisted more than eighty organizations with the development and certification of their quality management systems including the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Aviation Safety. Prior to his current position, Mr. Kunder was involved in the accreditation of several 3rd party registrars, acted as an administrator for the first RAB accredited registrar in the United States and works as a subcontract auditor for a number of registrars. Mr. Kunder is an ASQ senior member and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
